Bayer Leverkusen is ready to spend “a lot of money” Sign Chelsea goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic, claimed in Germany.
Although Petrovic was impressed under Mauricio Pochettino last season, he was borrowed to the sister side of Strasbourg in summer when the new manager Enzo Maresca Robert Sanchez appointed the preferred goalkeeper.
While Sanchez and newly signed second -occupied Filip Jorgensen endured mixed campaigns, Petrovic honored himself with Strasbourg. The 25-year-old offers a savings percentage higher than that of Chelsea’s senior stopper (80.1%) and is a candidate who wins the goalkeeper of the year of Ligue 1 this season.
Petrovic will return to Chelsea in the summer and will probably be part of a significant goalkeeper. The blues will have seven stoppers in the books when Kepa Arrizabalaga with Bournemouth and 19-year-old Mike Penders returns from his own loan to get an arrival of 17 million GBP from Genk.
It is believed that Petrovic has a chance to force himself in Marescas for the next season, but Kicker States, there are several clubs that have liked the Serbia international who has the goal of Leverkusen’s top priority.
How much Petrovic could cost is unclear, but Leverkusen should be willing to commit considerable means for his signing to convince Chelsea for sale.
If Petrovic returns to the Chelsea squad, this would probably leave either Sanchez or Jorgensen. The popular Marcus Bettinelli will remain as an option of the third choice.
Offers will be entertained for Kepa, which could remain beyond this season at Bournemouth if Real Madrid does not affect her again. It is expected that Penders will leave a loan and the United States International Gabriel Slonina, a signing of 12 million GBP in 2022, will also be made available for a temporary switch.
