Chelsea joined by European giants who have held talks over activating Michael Olise’s release clause

According to The Pitch Prospect, FC Bayern Munich’s interest in Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is serious.

Bayern have already spoken to Olise’s agents about activating the release clause of around £60 million in his Palace contract.

Olise has won another suitor in Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

As reported on Thursday, Chelsea have also approached Palace, as has Manchester United, who are planning to restructure their squad after confirming that Erik ten Hag will remain as manager next season.

Olise’s contract runs until 2027, but it looks like he will leave Selhurst Park this summer.

The 22-year-old has received rave reviews since making his Palace debut in 2021 following an £8.3million move from Reading.

The midfielder scored 16 goals in 90 appearances for the Eagles.

New Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany knows Olise’s talent first-hand, as he himself was coach at Burnley.

The Belgian has identified Olise as his priority target as Joshua Kimmich’s future is still unclear.

If he were to move to Bayern, France’s U21 star Olise would join forces with fellow countrymen Dayot Upamecano, Kingsley Coman, Sacha Boey and Mathys Tel.

It could also open the door to Didier Deschamps’ talented first-team squad, which includes N’Golo Kante and Antoine Griezmann both over 30.

Palace do not want to lose their star talent, but know that the funds would give boss Oliver Glasner the opportunity to invest further in the squad.

Olise helped the Eagles to an excellent end-of-season form, winning six of their last seven games, including comfortable victories over Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United.

Newcastle are also said to be interested in Olise, but due to the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, they must first sell players before a transfer can take place.

However, Chelsea will hope that their negotiating tool of not having to move Olise away from London will be enough to fend off competition for his signature.

The Blues have long been interested in Olise and were close to signing him 12 months ago.

Olise has decided to sign a new four-year contract at Selhurst Park, but Crystal Palace admit that a sale of their biggest star is likely to happen this summer.
