Brighton & Hove Albion have expressed interest in signing Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, according to a report.
Chelsea signed Tosin on a free transfer in the summer when his contract at Fulham expired, but the 27-year-old was unable to hold onto his place in Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup and fell behind academy graduate Josh Acheampong in the pecking order in recent weeks.
Tosin, who has made just seven Premier League starts this season, has been approached by Brighton The post He indicated there was strong interest in luring the centre-back away from Stamford Bridge this month.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will consider a departure for Tosin. Most of his appearances have been due to injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, but despite the French duo’s fitness issues, Chelsea are still well-stocked defensively.
Levi Colwill is a regular player and has been reinforced in defense in recent weeks by 18-year-old Acheampong. Tosin acted as cover alongside Axel Disasi, while Trevoh Chalobah and Aaron Anselmino were recalled from their respective loans to Crystal Palace and Boca Juniors.
From within the group, reports suggest Chelsea are keen to part ways with Disasi, but the Blues could be tempted by the chance of making an immediate gain in Tosin, who was signed for nothing in return just seven months ago.
