Chelsea still have dead weight to shift with six big-money players on transfer list

Chelsea desperately spent a large part of the transfer window of last summer to cut a squad that was bloated beyond the comparison.

Manager Enzo Maresca even created a ‘Bomb squad’ and separated the undesirable players of the players.

Despite a success element that sold valuable assets such as Conor Gallagher and Romelu Lukaku, a large part of the problem was simply swept under the carpet.

The English International Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell, for example, are still in Chelsea’s books, even though they have no future in the club.

A number of Loanees will return this summer and again show the blues with another chaotic period of the shift of the dead weight in order to stay in accordance with the financial regulations.

And despite well over £ 1 billion since the new property income in May 2023, there are still considerable holes in the Chelsea squad that will fix Maresca before the next season.

Talksport understands that a new striker is high on her list of priorities after relying too much on Nicolas Jackson in an injury -tensed season.

The blues are interested in Ipswichs Liam Delap, Conrads Harder from Sporting, Benjamin Sesko and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekikte.

The defender of Bournemouth, Dean Huijsen, Nottingham Forest-Hostwäriger Nico Williams and Borussia Dortmund Wing player Jamie Gitten are, among other things, top-class names on Chelseas Radar.

In the following Talksport.com look at the big money players who have to go before Maresca can fill these gaps, especially if the blues do not get the Champions League football and all financial advantages associated with it.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Chelsea has loaned nine high -ranking goalkeepers in the books – five in their current squad and four.

And yet most fans would tell them that signing a first -class goalkeeper should be the club’s agenda.

The blues thought they did in 2018 when they made Kepa the most expensive goalkeeper in the world in a deal of £ 71.6 million.

But after seven years in the club, Chelsea will definitely recover part of this money this summer after he had already told the 30-year-old that he had no future on Stamford Bridge.

Despite a reconciling loan magic at the rival Bournemouth in Premier League, in which the Kepa shares have increased dramatically.

Talksport understands that the cherries deviate a permanent offer for the Spaniard, which also arouses the interest of Bayer Leverkusen.

Christopher Nkunku

The France international came with severe expectations after a move of £ 52 million in 2023.

The fans were ready to be patient with Nkunku after a serious injury before the season ruined his debut campaign in the club.

Despite the sufficient opportunities this season, the 27-year-old striker was overwhelming.

With 14 goals in all competitions, only three of them came in the Premier League, although Nkunku had been presenting for the injured Jackson for weeks.

Talksport understands that the forward administrator agrees to Bayern Munich in January before the deal fell off.

This summer he will be near the Chelsea transmission list – with an evaluation of around 60 million GBP.

Carney Chukwuemeka

The arrival of Maresca seemed to spell the end for Chukwuemeka in Chelsea before it even started.

After the England Youth International arrived in a 20 million pound from Aston Villa in 2022, he impressed in short outbreaks and managed persistent injury problems.

Despite the return to fitness, the playing possibilities of the diverse midfielder under Maresca were limited and he excluded from Borussia Dortmund in January.

Chukwuemeka has spent more time in the treatment room in Germany since then and has since developed as an important player for Dortmund to get a place in the Champions League.

Chelsea is confident that the 21-year-old can be used as a make -om -weight to sign the BVB star of Gitten this summer.

Raheem Sterling

To say that this season did not go according to Sterling would be an understatement.

The English international was strong in the pre-season under Maresca and showed up well, but was suddenly left out of the first Premier League squad of the Italians.

Arsenal called with a loan offer, but Sterling was sparingly used by the Gunners this season despite a long -term injury to Bukayo Saka.

It is assumed that Arsenal will not keep the 30-year-old-and previously cut offers from Saudi Arabia to stay in the Premier League.

Ben Chilwell

Chilwell is another big money capital in Chelsea’s books without a future in the club.

The 28-year-old remains a popular figure among the blues fans after playing along in 2021 in the club’s Triumphal Champions League campaign.

Due to a combination of injuries and bad favorites, Chilwell has only brought together 49 top appearances in four seasons.

His loan in January for Crystal Palace showed a brief sign of promises before Tyrick Mitchell Chilwell limited Chilwell to a little part of the part.

He will be looking for a new home again this summer – even though Chelsea has no options with full -backers.

Axel disasi

At the beginning of the season, Disasi was the unofficial captain of the B team of Chelsea B and wore the bracelet for the squad of marginal players, which were occasionally carried out in the Europa Conference League.

Remarkably, he would end the season in a quarter-finals of the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.

Aston Villa took a chance of the French central defender in the January Transfer window, but it is assumed that they do not plan to make the deal permanently.

After he had signed for the blues over 38.5 million GBP less than two years ago, Katsie rounds off a long list of expensive players who return to Cobham in a few weeks without being the future in the club.

And while some have increased their shares, others will prove to be difficult to give up.
