Simon Jordan believes Conor Gallagher should have chosen a move to Aston Villa over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Pitch Prospect understands the England international will sign a five-and-a-half year deal with Spurs and has said goodbye to his Atlético Madrid team-mates.

The 26-year-old must undergo a medical after choosing Spurs over Villa.
Spurs took advantage of the move for Gallagher after news broke of a serious injury to Rodrigo Bentancur.
The Villans wanted to take Gallagher on loan with an option to buy until the end of the season.
But Spurs have made a permanent offer for the former Chelsea star, paying Atleti just under £35m.
The midfielder expects to play more games under Thomas Frank than under Unai Emery and wants to live in London again.
But Jordan feels like he made a mistake when he told White and Jordan, “It’s okay, right?”
“I mean there was a lot of noise made about him leaving Chelsea because he was one of them and came through the youth ranks, while other big name players were being signed for big money and Conor Gallagher was being pushed out the door.”
“I think he’s fine. I think he had a great time.” [on loan] at the Palace when they got a real boost from his energy.
“Do I think he’s a world-beater? No. Do I think he’s making Spurs better? Only slightly.”
“Are these kinds of signings catapulting Spurs to dizzying heights? No.”

“Would it have been a better move to go to Villa? Probably.”
“And that is one of the challenges for Unai Emery because they have suffered huge financial losses and are already involved in PSR.”
“They have already done a deal with UEFA so Villa are in trouble because they cannot compete and that is the injustice of it all.”
“But I think he [Gallagher] would have been better off in Villa.
“I think he would have done better. Villa are on the rise and fighting to get into the top four and Tottenham are finding it difficult to keep their manager.”
More broadly, White asked Jordan if Villa would be able to attract the best if PSR was not a factor.

“You could actually knock on some doors,” Jordan replied.
Gallagher’s dilemma
In the end, Spurs won the race to sign Gallagher, which is unlikely to go down well with Chelsea fans.
But he has chosen a club that appears to be in a downward spiral, with Spurs knocked out of both domestic cups and sitting in 14th place.
They are currently still in the Champions League, but the likelihood of them getting back into the Champions League next season is currently slim.
There is also uncertainty about head coach Thomas Frank as the results are not good enough.
However, one could argue that Spurs’ signing of Gallagher is a sign that they are willing to give the Danes time to turn things around.

Meanwhile, Villa is on track to be back in the Champions League next season.
They are currently in third place, 11 points clear of sixth. So unless there is a spectacular collapse, they should be back among the European elite.
Villa are also one of the favorites to win the Europa League, while the FA Cup represents another chance to win a trophy after they ironically knocked Spurs out of the competition last weekend.
