Danny Murphy admitted he is worried about the rest of Liverpool’s season.
Arne Slot’s side did little business in the window, signing defender Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais for £60m on deadline day.

However, the new Liverpool player’s move to Merseyside will not take place until the summer.
Speaking on The Pitch Prospect on Monday evening, Danny Murphy, who made 249 appearances for Liverpool, said more needed to be done in this window.
He said: “They needed someone. So if Rennais’ condition was that you can buy him for the future, which fits the model for Liverpool, a young emerging player like (Hugo) Ekitike, (Milos) Kerkez, (Florian) Wirtz.”
“Well, I got him in the summer but then Liverpool should have looked for a loan deal because I still don’t see the cover.”
This season, Liverpool have conceded more goals than usual and are showing weakness in defense.
Additionally, the manager has often covered the defense with midfielders due to an injury crisis in the squad, including Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong.
The club were close to signing Marc Guehi after losing out in the summer, but were hijacked by Manchester City.
Meanwhile, fans’ favorite left-back Andy Robertson was close to leaving the club to join Premier League rivals Spurs and a potential move for Sunderland loanee Lutsharel Geertruida fell through.
Murphy, even after voicing his concerns over the lack of transfers, still believes Liverpool’s season is far from over.
“They are still fighting for the Champions League and the FA Cup. The season is not canceled, it is not written off.”

Jacquet was expected to move from Liverpool to Chelsea, with the London-based club still happy to accept the deal. Danny Murphy said the French footballer had “seen reason”.
Murphy, who won several silver medals with Liverpool, replied: “I mean, every young player has different ambitions and also different conversations with every future manager or technical director.”
“I imagine there will be a financial difference as Liverpool pay better than Chelsea.”
The Pitch Prospect’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook spoke about why he thinks Chelsea pulled out of the deal.
“The reason Chelsea dropped us out of the race was because they didn’t want to slow down the development of (Josh) Acheampong and Mamadou Sarr.
“I would imagine they have just caught wind that the player would ultimately prefer to move to Liverpool.”

Murphy added: “I could imagine that too, I just mentioned it, but Liverpool pay more than Chelsea.”
“It’s pretty well known in the industry, so maybe they weighed him out.
“There are so many things with a young player, you never know who he always supports, who he looks up to and which players.”
Liverpool beat Newcastle with a 4-1 triumph at Anfield last weekend, but the new player will make no difference until next season.
Their next game is a clash with Man City on Sunday.
