However, the 28-year-old achieved only four goals in his 50 appearances for the club, none of which came in the 2024/25 season.

It goes without saying that Gray wants to return to English football, but ideally would like to play in the Premier League.

After their promotion to the championship after their title victory in the league One, this could be a blow for the former Birmingham association.

Sunderland followed an approach in January, but did not rekindle its interest this summer, while the Italian side of Fiorentina explored a loan.

Al Ettifaq would like to sell the wing player for a fee of £ 8 million.

Gray joined the Birmingham Youth System in 2006 before celebrating his senior debut for the club in October 2013 at the age of 17.

He showed 78 times for the blues and in January 2016 scored eight goals before moving £ 3.7 million to Leicester City.

Just four months after the signing, Gray became part of the legendary Foxes team, who won the Premier League title with 5000/1.

The winger scored 13 goals and assisted 14 in 169 games during his five -year stay before moving to Bayer Leverkusen.

However, he only spent six months in Germany and went to Everton for Everton in July 2021 for a second Premier League.

Gray helped the Toffees to secure their top flight status in seasons 2021/22 and 2022/23 with 14 goal contributions in 67 league games.

Al Ettifaq then signed him in the same summer with a four-year contract in which England and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard Manager became.

He had a dream start in the Saudi Pro League by supporting two goals in a 3-1 win against the Abha Club.

Gray was a regular starter under Gerrard before the manager went at the beginning of the year.

Saad Al Shehri was named as a replacement, but Gray has not scored a single goal since then.
