Robertson is open to moving to Spain, and Atletico explores a deal, Talksport understands.

It would end a glittering Aufield career for the 31-year-old.

Since the signing of Hull for £ 8 million in 2017, Robertson has made 342 appearances for the Reds.

He not only scored 11 goals and offers 67 templates, but has won nine trophies, including the Champions League and two league titles.

Robertson remained an important part of her Premier League triumph last season, in 33 games for Arne Slot.

However, it is expected to leave Liverpool before the start of the next season.

Alex Crook, the chief football correspondent of Talksport, said: “This is interesting because I mentioned that (Milos) Kerkez will come from Bournemouth.

“Obviously, the Robertson’s season will be restricted. I think Liverpool is aware of it and I think they are open to offers.

“Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone would like to bring him to Spain, and we were informed of Talken near Robertson on the weekend at Talksport that he would be open to this step, and I think it will be a good step for him.

“Something slower pace in La Liga. I can see how he really thrives under Diego Simeone.
