Luiz is now officially a Juventus player.

Luiz spent five seasons at Villa after joining from Man City in 2019.

City have a sell-on clause, meaning they will earn around £5 million from the transfer.

However, the transfer business between the two clubs is not expected to end there.

Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling Jr. will join Villa on two separate deals.

In a statement, Aston Villa said: “Aston Villa can confirm that Douglas Luiz has joined Juventus.

“After starting his career at Vasco da Gama in his native Brazil, the midfielder signed for Villa in the summer of 2019.

“He spent five seasons in claret and blue, helping the club to qualification for the UEFA Europa Conference League and the UEFA Champions League in two consecutive seasons.

“At the end of the 2022/23 season, he was also voted the club’s best player and best fan player.
