Michael Morrison remains young in his almost 20 -year career – and only a part of it is due to his constant fresh failures.
The captain of Cambridge United enjoys a new lease about the face of the new era of the U, two decades after his debut with the club.

The 37-year-old is today the oldest player who, according to Darren Pratley’s retirement this summer, skipped a page in the EFL.
Morrison, who signed a new one -year contract in Cambridge in May, remains an essential part of the reconstruction of the squad in the fourth stage.
Despite the descent to the second division, the Us bloom from the square with Brooks Running after their two -year partnership.
The deal is one of the most important marketing milestones in the history of the club before the upcoming Docu series for CBS imitates the Wrexham when increasing its commercial presence in the USA.
In addition, Cambridges is new 3.5 million pound training near the facilities offered when Morrison met the first appearance for the association in the National League at the age of 17.
In conversation with Talksport.com, the defender has good memories of this first stay, but is immense proud of the transformation of the team.
“In the past we got dressed on the training area, went around Coldhams Common and literally train in the park, which was 21 years ago,” said Morrison exclusively to Talksport.
“When I came back for the first time, we just finished the building, the building is now finished and it looks fantastic, the pitches are brilliant.
“It has everything we need, ice cream baths, it has all the gym we need. We also have employees who are really good, and the improvement from there to there, as you would expect, it is day and night!
“The club continues to push every year, it does things with the infrastructure around the place, and that also includes the stadium.”

Cambridges decision to join Morrison directly into the first team of the academy represented her bad situation at the time.
The Outfit of the Abbey Stadium had only been relegated in a similar way and was forced to close the U18 in the middle of financial struggles.
In contrast, Cambridge U16 Dan Nneji switched to Brighton to a transmission fee of Club Record Academy this month, with the prospective starlets that were all decorated in Brooks trainers.
“Football has changed very much, whereby young players in the academies work as it works now,” Morrison continued.
“It is not often that you are lucky enough to bring these young players to their first team because the big boys take them so quickly.
“We see 15-year-old, 16-year-old go before you get into the main building that is recognized for the employees, there is a really good catchment area here and you are working hard to get the best players and deliver the best program.”

Morrison himself was this starlet, which aroused interest from the elite of the Premier League after taking exams in Everton and Chelsea.
He also had a two -week stay in Newcastle when the manager Glenn Roeder at the time carried out an assessment that lives in the memory for a long time.
Morrison added: “I should have been there for five days, landed there for 10 days and thought: ‘Right, it is going well’ and he pulled me to his office and said: ‘I just don’t think you’re as good as Rio Ferdinand.’
“I think I think, now, you won’t sign many players if this is the bar he is looking.”
Morrison could soon be a coach of emerging young stars after making his LMA diploma in football management.

The former captain of Birmingham City has already shown his very different methods to get the best of EFL talents.
Morrison carried the bracelet to read when Michael Olise took his first steps to announce himself as a star in the creation.
Instead of using a direct approach, the veteran Flair player, whose advice Olise was more likely to listen to.
He explained: “We had Lucas Joao and Yakou Mite, who had really big influences on him. At the time they were reading superstars in our team.
“They were people who could look up on Michael, and that was more like him, while an old, experienced center help did not translate.

“I think it’s about strengthening other people and let them know that they are aware of how much they influence the team.
“I don’t think one of Yakou or Lucas considered themselves as a leader, and they had a massive impact on Michael Olise at the time. So it was really important.
“To be fair, he scored a lot of goals, and Yakou was injured, but that was a really good, powerful team. And Michael got through at a great time, and it’s great to see it so well.
“But yes, I want to say that you have a little impact on someone’s career.”
Olise gave his senior debut for reading in March 2019 before exploding the scene in 2020/21.

The 23-year-old scored seven goals and recorded 12 templates to demand the EFL Young Player of the Year Award, and Crystal Palace implemented himself to the summer to activate his 8 million pound publication clause.
A total of 41 hit participation on 90 games for the Eagles triggered a rush to sign it. Bayern Munich won the race to complete a move of £ 60 million 12 months ago.
“I think that [Reading] At that time, manager Veljko Panovic was very understanding for his psyche and how to bring Michael best to the right areas of the ball and show his qualities and also make sure that he knew that it was a team performance.
“So there were some of us who tried to unlock this potential. And they can see it now and it is brilliant,” Morrison told Talksport.
Morrison, a sub -owner of three hairdressing shops, has not used his influence on some of his current teammates.

“You ask Brophs [James Brophy]He won’t go in because he thinks it is too expensive and we are actually quite cheap. We are very inexpensive. “
The couple was at least on the same side for Morrison’s impressive solo efforts against Shrewsbury, which won the month in October 2023. At the beginning of the move, my brother technically assigned the contribution to the statistics for the five-yard pass.
“I think it was only the few templates he had,” joked Morro. “To be fair, he always says: ‘Oh, I supported that.
“Marko [Marosi] Was in the car school, the goalkeeper in Shrewsbury at that time. I didn’t even notice that we signed him and we were in the car and started talking about the goal because I would like to appeal to it.
“And he said,” I was actually in goal that day. “So that was pretty funny.
