Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed Injuries.
The blues once again lost Lavia in the construction of the 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur and has had it on 14 appearances for the club since his arrival in 2023 and he was later connected on the edge shortly before Fofana’s victory.
Fofana had hoped to have shaken his long -term injury problems when he established himself as a key player from Maresca’s reign in the first few months, but a thigh injury sent him back to the side lines in December. There were concerns that it could have been a problem at the end of the season, but the central defender returned early on the last month.
“A muscle problem a few days ago and we are waiting for more checks,” said Maresca about Fofana’s problem and confirmed that it was the same for Lavia.
“Both problems, muscle problems.”
Maresca refused to offer the couple a potential time frame, but confirmed that Lavia would probably be the first to celebrate his comeback.
“We don’t know yet,” said the Chelsea boss. “We are waiting for both. Romeo looks a little better compared to WES, since Romeo can probably be back earlier than Wes.
“If you compare Romeo’s games with last season this season, he has already improved. This season it was difficult to go in the other direction. But the goal with Romeo is to keep him as far as possible.
“He will play more games next year than this season.”
