Everton are in talks with Newcastle over a move for sought-after Gambian winger Yankuba Minteh, The Pitch Prospect has learned.
Minteh, 19, spent last season on loan at Arne Slot’s Feyenoord and is on the radar of several European and Premier League teams.

This is a separate deal to Newcastle’s pursuit of Toffees striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but both moves would help resolve the two clubs’ PSR issues.
The Pitch Prospect reported last month that Newcastle had renewed their interest in long-term target Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but talks were not yet very advanced.
There has been much speculation that Minteh could leave St. James’ Park this summer after a strong season in the Eredivisie.
Under new Liverpool head coach Slot, the teenager scored eleven goals in 37 appearances for the Dutch Feyenoord offensive team.
This has sparked interest across Europe, with clubs such as Roma, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund and even Liverpool looking to team up with Slot again.
Newcastle only signed the winger in June 2023 and then immediately loaned him to Feyenoord.
The Gambian international was signed for around £6 million but could now leave the club and bring a profit to the Geordies.
Despite never having kicked a ball under Eddie Howe, he could now become Everton’s second new signing.

The Toffees confirmed their first signing of the summer after bringing in Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa for £9 million.
On the other hand, Lewis Dobbin, the top player of the Everton Academy, is likely to move to Villa Park.
A similar scenario appears to be playing out with this deal, with Newcastle being closely linked with Calvert-Lewin.
The Magpies were already interested in the striker at the beginning of the season and are likely to revive their attempts to sign the 27-year-old.
Howe currently has Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson as his main strikers at Newcastle, although both have had injury problems in the past.
Nevertheless, Calvert-Lewin’s fitness problems are well documented, even though he played 32 games for Everton last season and scored seven goals.
