The Premier League 2024 summer transfer window is open and clubs are starting to spend money.
On 1 July a new PSR began [profit and sustainability rules] period, which means teams across the country can start spending money a little more freely.

6
June saw many clubs attempt to sell players before the PSR deadline on June 30, leading to some strange deals between rivals to ensure no one suffered a points deduction.
But now those worries are over for another year and the top clubs are keen to strengthen their squads ahead of the coming season.
A lot of money has already been spent, but here are the biggest deals so far…
5. Yankuba Minteh – Newcastle to Brighton: £33 million

6
Minteh joined Newcastle in the summer of 2022 and was loaned to Feyenoord.
Under new Liverpool coach Arne Slot, the winger played Champions League football and impressed in the Eredivisie.
The Gambian international scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 37 appearances, and Newcastle fans were excited to see him on Tyneside.
However, with the threat of a PSR-related points deduction looming, Toon reluctantly sold Minteh to Brighton.
3 = Elliot Anderson – Newcastle to Nottingham Forest: £35 million

6
Anderson is another PSR-related sale for Newcastle, who had to reckon with a double-digit points deduction.
The Geordie had no intention of leaving the Toon and signed a new contract with the club in September 2022.
But to avoid the sale of Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak or Bruno Guimaraes, Anderson was sacrificed.
Nottingham Forest are getting a young, versatile player with plenty of Premier League experience who should prove to be a great addition.
3 = Archie Gray – Leeds to Tottenham: £35 million

6
Gray is a top talent in midfield who looked far too good for the championship.
Therefore, Leeds were aware that missing out on promotion last season could potentially cost them their young star.
Brentford thought his signature was in the bag and a deal had been agreed in principle.
But Leeds rejected this offer at the last moment and Tottenham snapped up someone who would go straight into the first team.
2. Ian Maatsen – Chelsea to Aston Villa: £37.5 million

6
Maatsen almost won the Champions League last season while on loan at Borussia Dortmund, but lost the final against Real Madrid.
But Chelsea have decided to pass on the Dutchman for numerous reasons, and Aston Villa have signed a potential top left-back.
In the Bundesliga, Maatsen proved to be an excellent offensive player.
Therefore, great things can be expected from Maatsen under the leadership of Unai Emery.
1. Max Kilman – Wolves to West Ham: £40 million

6
Julen Lopetegui’s biggest target since becoming West Ham manager was Kilman.
The Spaniard had worked with the Englishman at Wolves and was a big fan of the central defender.
Kilman has great technique and brings much-needed youth and speed to West Ham’s ageing defence.
The Hammers have spent a lot of money, but it should prove worthwhile.
