Deeneys dyke approval
Troy Deeney was present in the London stadium on Saturday for a 2-1 defeat by West Ham against Crystal Palace and he went away with two overarching thoughts.
First, the atmosphere.
“It was sad, it was really sad to be there,” said Deeney in Talksports Hawksbee and Jacobs.
“It is a wonderful football club. There is nothing, there is no positivity, it is a completely separate place.”
Second, football was a tedious watch.
“They were poor on the field,” said Deeney.
The former Watford man did not struggle when he discussed the performance of the summer to sign Callum Wilson.
“He is a friend of mine, so I hope that he understands where I come from but to see Callum Wilson was uncomfortable.
“He is not the player he was once and he leads the line for you. And that’s someone you brought with you. So you talk about all this new recruitment, but you brought in Cal, you have dropped the goalkeeper for whom you spent a lot of money for.
“It just doesn’t feel right and I think Potter’s days are numbered.”
So if this is the case, who would bring deeney to Potter replacement?
Well, as the former Watford Marksman emphasized, West Ham appears in two minds when the majority owner David Sullivan Slaven wants to bring back Bilic, while the deputy chairwoman Karren Brady Nuno Espirito Santo wants.
“However, they are not even on the same planet, or, or deeney.
“They don’t go for the same type of manager. You go for nostalgia, one is pragmatic.
“I think they could make much worse than to go.
“Besides, I don’t even know if he wants to go back to work, but Sean Dyche would do pretty well at this place.”
