Dortmund Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl announced that he would like to keep Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka in the club.
The 21-year-old came to Dortmund in February and had 16 appearances last season.
Chukwuemeka was also part of the Dortmund Club World Cup squad, with Chelsea expanding his loan to the KO level.
Since Dortmund loses against Real Madrid on Saturday in the quarterfinals, Chukwuemeka’s loan has now come to an end, but Kehl believes that it couldn’t be the last time that it is highlighted in black and yellow.
“Carney’s loan ends today,” said Kehl on Saturday after Dortmund’s 3-2 defeat against Real in New Jersey.
“That was what we agreed with Chelsea. Well, let’s see.

Chelsea Value Chukwuemeka for 40 million GBP, the same number as its publication clause. This makes a permanent transmission for Dortmund difficult, unless the price drops.
Talksport understands that Dortmund is open to another loan, possibly with an option or an obligation to buy, and that discussions about the maintenance of Chukwuemeka have started over the last season in May.
