Former Inter & Belgium star arrested in cocaine trafficking bust

The former midfielder of Inter and Roma, Radja Nainggolan, was arrested in Belgium as part of an examination of the cocaine trade.

The 36-year-old is said to have been arrested by the Belgian police after having carried out a series of separate raids across the country.

The Associated Press Report that 30 search queries in the province of Antwerp and in and around Brussels were carried out on Monday morning, where 2.7 kilograms of cocaine, luxury items worth over € 500,000 and over 350,000 euros were found by the authorities.

Between 2014 and 2018, Nainggolan was in the Roma for four years after a similar length in Cagliari and finally switched to the current interlections of the series -a holder. He was one of the most famous midfielder in the country at the time of moving, but was not able to establish himself as a regular guest in San Siro.

The combative star recently ended a long game from the game by signing for the second Lokerer, who found out about his arrest by reading media reports.

“The association respects the presumption of innocence and therefore cannot comment on,” says a club declaration. “We can only confirm that the player was absent in training this morning. The club will continue to concentrate on the important league game of tomorrow against Kas Eupen. Radja Nainggolan is not entitled to play in this game anyway.”

16 people were arrested, the public prosecutor’s office of Brussels confirmed, with the investigation on the alleged import of cocaine concentrated in the country from South America to shipping ports in Antwerp.

Nainggolan was covered by Belgium 30 times, but he has not performed for the national team for six years. He has two important honors of his name -the title 2020/21 Series A and 2022/23 Belgian Pro League title -and was mentioned in the series team of the year in all four of his full seasons in the Roma.
