The Barcelona star Gavi described his middle branch Pedri as the deserved winner of the balloon in 2025 and not as many satisfied teammates Raphinha.
The Brazilian striker was in record form this season and scored 44 goals and templates in all competitions. Hansi Flick admitted that Raphinha “has a shot” to raise the balloon d’Or, while Brazil coach Dorival Junior rated him as a top candidate.
Pedri cannot get Raphhinha’s counter of the target contributions close to goal contributions-as an attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 for a large part of this term as an attacking midfielder-extends his intangible influence on the team far beyond the cold numbers.
“Nobody deserves the balloon d’Ur more than Pedri, everyone knows what kind of player he is,” enthused Gavi after Barcelona won the quarter -finals of the Champions League on Tuesday. Significantly, Raphhinha achieved a clip, but Pedri was crowned the game player.
“Pedri is above,” Gavi continued. “Everyone knows what kind of player he is and I am very happy for him because he couldn’t show it last year due to injuries. I can say that Pedri is the best midfielder in the world at the moment.”
The availability has not always been a quality for Spanish international in recent years. Pedris 39 starts in all competitions this season are more than he has accumulated in one of the last three campaigns – all of which were hindered by injuries. Despite the more aggressive approach from Flick this season, the 22-year-old missed just one game throughout the season, and that was due to illness.
If at all, the fan in childhood was Barcelona full of praise for the manager’s new fitness regime. “I feel liberated under the patch,” he enthused. “You can also see physically that I am much better to do different things.”
Pedri was nominated for the balloon d’Or in the past and ended in the 24th place in 2021 – in the same year he raised the Kopa trophy as the best player under the age of 21.
The Barcelona star will surely return to the shortlist for this year’s price. If the club continues its charges in three competitions – the leaders of La Liga are the quarter -finals of the Champions League and the Copa del Rey -Semis – Pedri and Raphinha could compete with Ballon d’Orrory.
