Hansi Flick admits he is ‘not happy’ with situation at Barcelona

Hansi Flick has admitted he is “not happy” with Barcelona’s failure to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, but backed the club to find a positive solution soon.

The duo were both removed from La Liga’s website after their provisional registrations expired on December 31, as Barcelona failed to raise the necessary funds to re-register the pair before the deadline.

League rules state that a player cannot be re-registered after his original contract expires, meaning Barcelona have been forced to appeal to the Spanish Football Federation and are also reportedly preparing for another appearance before a judge.

“I don’t want to talk about it too much because it’s not my job,” Flick told the media. “My job is to prepare for the game.

“I was in contact with the president at Christmas and today. I have the trust of the club that he did his job just like I did.

“To be honest, I’m not happy with the situation. The players are not happy either, but we have to accept that we are professionals. I’m optimistic, but we have to wait for the decision.”

Reports emerged on Friday suggesting Barcelona could sell centre-back Eric Garcia to Girona to help sign Olmo and Victor, but Flick played down the idea of the defender leaving.

“I don’t think he will go, but I don’t know what will happen,” said Flick. “He is a good player for us.

“He’s had some injuries but he’s a very intelligent player and a player we like a lot. We don’t think about that.”

Like Flick, Olmo’s agent has also assisted Barcelona in resolving this situation soon, with club officials reportedly confident of securing signings for the pair soon.
