The former Crystal Palace Manager Roy Hodgson “really suffered” Marc Guehi after the defender was denied a change of dream to Liverpool.
However, Hodgson warned the South London Club against throwing money on Guehi to extend his stay in Selhurst Park, and pointed out his own experience with Wilfried Zaha as the reason.

How Guehi’s move to Liverpool collapsed
Guehi wanted to join a Manic Transfer period for £ 35 million for £ 35 million after completing his medical medicine in London.
So far, Guehi’s move, a starting video that reminded of the time of the English international in the Palace.
The same video was later leaked when the deal collapsed when the Palace Igor Julio, which was intended as a replacement of Guehi, did not land that had been loaned for the season.
After the Igor parade had carried out, Talksport understands that Eagles boss Oliver Glasner announced the club hierarchy, which he would terminate if Guehi was sold and no replacement was signed.
Roy Hodgson’s judgment about the Marc Guehi -saga
For Hodgson, who was a distant observer in this transfer window, the saga left him with an acid taste, since the mixed news that Guehi would have received from the palace continuously.
“I worked with him for a year and a half,” said Hodgson in the talk sports breakfast.
“I found him an outstanding person, not just an outstanding footballer. This was shown very clearly in this long, drawn saga.
“He is the person I am really sorry for, because if it had been made clear at the beginning, his upcoming task would be to stay in Crystal Palace, and there would be no question that he would go in the transfer window, then he would be sure that he would have got his head for it.
“But after he was led to faith sooner or later, a deal between the clubs would be completed, I think his head for the recent times he would move. He is the loser in the situation.
“Palace should be the winner because he is such a good player and a player, captain and leader of this caliber should be advantageous. However, it remains to be seen how anger he was through what has happened in the past few hours.

“I think the transfer situation could have been sorted out much faster between the two clubs.”
After Guehi is now at risk in his contract year in his contract year, he is nothing at the end of the season unless he decides to sell him in January or to convince him to sign a new deal.
Hodgson, however, is of the opinion that the latter option could cause serious financial difficulties in the coming years and that the mercury wing zaha used the mercury.
Why Hodgson wants Palace to not repeat a repeat error
Thanks to his electrical services on the wing under Hodgson’s instructions, Zaha aroused interest from a number of teams from the Premier League.
To make the star happy and ward off the interest from the rivals, Palace gave him a new five -year contract with improved conditions in May 2017 and August 2018.
Unfortunately, it had a far -reaching influence on the club’s payroll in Palast, so much that the managing director of Eagles, Steve Parish, Hodgson still expresses his regret in relation to Zaha’s contracts.

Zaha, who was the club’s weekly wages of £ 130,000 of the club, finally left the palace at the end of his contract in 2023 and moved to Galatasaray.
When asked by Talksport moderator Jeff Stelling whether Guehi could stay with a larger offer in the Palace, Hodgson replied: “Everything is possible.
“We did it with Wilfried Zaha for years. But the problem with it, and Steve (Parish) tells me privately that he regretted that his wages in the club brought him to such a base, also because this meant that the club’s number of wages has increased enormously.
“As soon as you double the wages of someone in the club because you want to keep it, unfortunately double a good 20, 30, 40 percent of most other players.”
