Virgil van Dijk has admitted he has “no idea” how many more appearances he will make at Liverpool as speculation over his future continues to grow.
The Reds captain is free to talk to foreign clubs about a free transfer this summer as he has entered the final six months of his contract.

Van Dijk remained tight-lipped about whether he will begin a new spell at Anfield as fans began to fear the 33-year-old could face a surprise exit.
It was only in October that the Dutch defender revealed that talks over a contract extension had begun on Merseyside, although the two parties had not yet reached an agreement.
Liverpool are also sweating over the future of Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who like Van Dijk will also be free agents at the end of the season.
While it remains to be seen whether the trio’s future lies at Liverpool, they are keen to complete a historic campaign that has seen the Merseyside side challenge to win all four major trophies.
Van Dijk started each of the club’s 22 Premier League games and a further seven Champions League games.
His appearance in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Ipswich proved a milestone as it was his 300th appearance for the club – making him only the 65th Liverpool player to do so
After the win over the Tractor Boys, the former Southampton centre-back expressed his delight at reaching the record number, but also explained that his future at the club remains unclear, which could worry fans.
He said: “Very proud. My family and children were here today, so it was a special day.”
“Maybe I’ll get a glass of red wine tonight just to celebrate, me and my wife. But that’s it. The focus is then on the next game.”
“One day there will be a day when I will think about everything that happened to me in Liverpool.

“Then I’ll think carefully about what stands out. Hopefully there are good things to come.”
“I have no idea (how many more appearances he will make). How many are left this season?”
“Hopefully these are guaranteed, and then I don’t know what the future will bring.”
“This shows (with the highest win rate of any Liverpool player who has played at least 3,000 games) that I have done pretty well so far.
“It’s up to everyone involved – the players, the managers, the fans. It’s a good statistic. We will continue. Good win, so let’s focus on the next one now.”
Van Dijk’s attention now turns to the final game of the league phase in the Champions League on Wednesday evening against PSV Eindhoven.
