Kevin de Bruyne opened his unbelief in Manchester City not to offer him a new deal.

De Bruyne also commented on how he tried to make up for over a week with the decision before he went public in his announcement.

He added: “It was half a week until I reported it and it was not nice. My family was not at home.

“They were on vacation, so it was a bit strange, but it is what it is.

“After the decision was made and when I came out, it was more of a relief than I reported to the outside world when I knew and nobody knew.

“You don’t know what to do with the emotions with everyone and how to deal with it in the club.

“Now it’s out, it’s okay and people see how I am. I try to do my best and play for the team. I love playing football, so that’s it.”
