Jadon Sancho does not want Manchester United return despite club talks and Erik ten Hag uncertainty

Jadon Sancho doesn’t want to play for Manchester United next season even if Erik ten Hag is released.

Sancho has held preliminary talks with members of the Red Devils hierarchy over his future after being banned from Ten Hag for accusing the Dutchman on social media of making him a scapegoat.

Sancho is likely to stay away from Old Trafford.

He has been on loan to his former club Borussia Dortmund since January and has signed until the end of the season.

The Bundesliga club would like to bring Sancho back on loan for the 2024/25 season, as he scored three goals and two assists in 17 games.

This also includes an outstanding performance against Paris Saint-Germain in his team’s 1-0 win in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Sancho and Ten Hag publicly clashed at the start of the season after the Man United manager said the former England international was not in the squad for Arsenal’s game in September because of “his performances in training”.

The 24-year-old then hit back at his manager on social media, writing: “I won’t let people say things that are completely untrue. “I behaved very well in training this week… I was a scapegoat for a long time, which isn’t fair!”

Sancho was then forced to train away from the first team and took a break before leaving in the January transfer window.

The winger still has two years left on his current Man United contract.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag’s future at the club also remains unclear as he has been linked with Bayern Munich and new shareholder INEOS is making suggestions for a move in the dugout.

However, The Pitch Prospect understands that the Dutchman remains committed to Man United.

When asked about Sancho, Ten Hag said: “We are close in this process. We attend games where Jadon performed.

“We had a visit with him, we are talking to him and we will continue this process.”

The Sun report meetings were with now former director of football John Murtough and director of player negotiations Matt Hargreaves.

Ten Hag said about overcoming differences at the beginning of the season: “There was a conflict and let’s finish the season first, so stay away from this topic, now it is no longer important.”

“He has the return to the semi-finals, things are not going well for them in the league and we have four important games in the league and the FA Cup final and then we will see.”
