Jadon Sancho finally joined Chelsea on the final day of the season in one of the biggest – and most recent – transfers.
The striker joined Stamford Bridge from Manchester United on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to make the move permanent for £25 million, a deal announced almost 24 hours after the transfer window closed.

Juventus were the team most likely to offer Sancho a way out of his nightmare at Old Trafford, but it was Chelsea who were able to get a deal done.
Sancho now hopes to reignite his career after three frustrating years with the Red Devils.
Speaking on Chelsea’s official website, Sancho said: “I’m really happy to be here. I grew up in London and I’m happy to be back.”
“The manager has spoken to me about the project and for a young player it is exciting. Hopefully I can bring goals and assists to the Bridge.”
After the international break, he could make his debut for the Blues against Bournemouth.
Man United confirmed the news in a brief statement of their own, saying: “Manchester United striker Jadon Sancho has joined Chelsea on loan for the remainder of the season.
“The 24-year-old England international sealed his move shortly before the transfer deadline, the announcement was made on Saturday evening.
“Sancho returned to United earlier this summer after spending half a season on loan at his former club Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
“He will now join Enzo Maresca’s Blues side at Stamford Bridge.
“We wish Jadon the best of luck for the upcoming campaign.”

The 24-year-old joined United from Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee of £73 million in the summer of 2021, but has struggled to live up to expectations.
After his falling out with Erik ten Hag, Sancho returned to Dortmund in January this year and scored three goals to help the German team reach the Champions League final.
Sancho returned to United this summer and Ten Hag stated that the winger would once again be part of his plans.
He said: “We have drawn the line.
“Manchester United needs good players and Jadon is a good player. We have drawn that line and are moving on.”
Sancho played in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City, where he missed his penalty in the penalty shootout.
Since then, however, he has not played for United, leading to speculation that he will leave before the transfer window closes.
In 83 appearances for the Red Devils, Sancho scored 12 goals and provided six assists; his last goal came in May 2023.
