Jadon Sancho reacted to Marcus Rashford’s first appearance for Aston Villa after lending Manchester United in one word: “Freedom”.
Rashford came on Sunday afternoon in the second half of the 2-2 victory in Tottenham Hotspur in the second half of Villa’s 2-1 win. This 24 -minute action control made the first competition from England International in every competition since a draw in Europa League against Viktoria Plzen on December 12th.
Ruben Amorim dropped Rashford for the Manchester Derby three days later and never gave him another second of the first team football. The Portuguese coach then announced that he was never able to convince the striker of his preferred style of play, and consistently criticized his attitude in training.
It was a dispute over Sancho’s work morality in Carrington, which led to his own exile of Manchester United last season. Erik Ten Hag was at the top when he dropped Sancho in September 2023 for a trip to Arsenal, and explained that his absence was a result of his “performance in training”.
Sancho went on social media to provide a firm refutation of his manager’s claims and insisted that he had been made a “scapegoat”. Ten Hag refused to remember the English winger until he agreed to the public apology. That never came. Sancho was then loaned to Borussia Dortmund for the second half of last season – where he helped the German outfit at the Champions League final – and was sent to Chelsea in August.
After Rashford’s first appearance for Villa, he published a number of pictures Instagram With the caption: “Thanks for the warm welcome. Great team performance.” Sancho replied Schelmisch with a nod to the end of the exile of his compatriot and wrote “Freiheit” alongside an outbreak of solemn emojis.
While Rashford’s loan on the villa contains the option to buy a reported £ 40 million 40, the move from Sancho to Chelsea was obliged to permanently make the deal for a fee in the region of 25 million GBP.
Although Rashford described his stay in Birmingham as “only at short notice”, reports indicate that it is “very unlikely” that the graduate of the academy will ever play for United again, given his “almost irreparable” relationship with the club.
