The Arsenal midfielder Jorginho agent left the door open for a possible contract extension with the Gunners and insisted that a decision about his future in the club has not yet been made.
The current deal of the 33-year-old runs until the end of the season, and it is generally expected that it is turning a free transmission, whereby a change to Brazil is regularly speculated. Jorginho even recently admitted that he is interested in the idea of playing in the country of his birth.
However, the door has not yet been closed for a future in Europe or even in Arsenal, as the Jorginho agent confirmed next month that the talks about the next step of the Italian will take place.
“From April 15th, I will start talks with clubs in England, including Arsenal, as well as teams from Italy, Saudi Arabia and Brazil,” agent Joao Santos told Arsenal every day.
Jorginho is free to agree with an overseas club, but would have to wait until his deal runs before formalizing a move to another English side when he leaves arsenal this summer.
Jorginho signed £ 12 million in 2023 in 2023. He made 24 appearances in all competitions, 14 of which came as a starter.
Instead, Areta preferred a midfield trio by Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey, the latter of which are also in the last months of his contract. A new midfielder is also on the radar for this summer, with Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and Bruno Guimaraes by Newcastle United Lower.
