Klopp, who is now Red Bull’s global sports director, put on to pick Elliott against a nominal fee of £ 4.3 million as a 16-year-old in 2019.

Three months later, he made him the latest debutant in Liverpool’s story in an EFL Cup ancestor at MK Dons.

At the beginning of the 2021-2022 season, Elliott broke into Klopp’s first team and started each of the first three Premier League games.

However, a 3-0 win against Leed’s experienced ankle disabled his progress, and since then he has only played bit-tip rolls.

While Klopps last year as a Liverpool boss in Liverpool, Elliott was the most appearances for the club in a single campaign (53), while he registered four goals and 14 templates in all competitions.

But the majority of this was now as an impact as a main start when the decision that the German admits was now regretted.

“It’s not that I go back and think: ‘Ok, what did we all do wrong?’ But when I regret one thing a bit, Harvey may not have played enough, ”said Klopp in May 2024.

“Because in a very important, intensive time – January, many injuries – he played really well. He was probably our best player – to the right, the right midfield, all of these things.

“Everyone came back and he had minutes here, minutes, and he didn’t start.”

Elliott wanted to make a fresh start in Angeld last summer and praised Klopp’s successor Arne Slot for his appearances in the pre -season.

Again the curse of the dreaded injury hit during the first international break of the last campaign, which exposed him until December.

Until then, the slot hesitated to disturb a start-to-the-day start, and Elliott only led two Premier League starts throughout the season.

After Liverpool had already secured the title, both came who triggered speculation about his long -term future in Anfield.

“It is a situation that I and the team have to have a conversation about because I am now in an age when I am 22 years old. I will be 23 next season,” said Elliott.

“I don’t really want to waste years in my career because it is a short career. You don’t know what will happen.

“I have to think. I have to see if I am satisfied with doing what I do and how can I improve as a player because this is the most important thing.”

Talksport understands that several Premier League clubs next to RB Leipzig look at the former Fulham Youngster.

Wolves are among them and it is assumed that Liverpool is concerned with the 22-year-old of more than £ 40 million.

According to Elliott’s breathtaking form for England at the U21 euro in Slovakia, this number could even have increased in Slovakia.

His bracket against the Netherlands on Wednesday confirmed the Young Lions place in a second final in a row.

Elliott, who currently stays with Anfield for two years, has scored four goals in five games at the tournament.
