The Real -Madrid legend Karim Benzema pointed out the request to return the club as soon as he overthrew the curtain for a famous career as a player.
Benzema is second in Madrid’s list of all the scorers who are in front of the Icons Raul and Alfredo di Stefano after they had reached 354 times in 14 years. He is also fifth on the club’s list of appearance and plays 648 games between 2009 and 2023.
Madrid greeted former players in the past in a variety of roles outside the field. Jorge Valdano and Emilio Buarrgueno, under which the stars of the 1980s were lower, had prominent management positions. Raul has been responsible for Real Madrid Castilla since 2019, and youth coach with Alvaro Arbeloa. Santiago Solari had spells that were responsible for different sides up to the first team level, with Zinedine Zidane serving as head coach as a consultant in front of two spells.
Benzema approved in A Mega Interview that he does not know whether coaching is the way he definitely wants to take, only that he wants to “close” President Florentino Perez.
“I was in Madrid with Florentino recently. When he signed me [in 2009]I told my father that I would be there as long as he was in Real Madrid, ”said the Frenchman.
“He was the first person I called when I decided that I was going. He didn’t quite understand … I told him that the young people Vinicius and Rodrygo were ready. When I retired, I want to be close to football. I don’t know that it seems more complicated than being a player. I want to be near Florentino.”
The 37 -year -old Benzema is currently in his second season with the Saudi -Pro League giant Al Ittihad.
“I feel good here,” he said. “My life is like in Madrid. I get up, train at home in the gym and in the afternoon I train with the team. In the evening I sometimes go to dinner or to the beach. Here you can also walk along the street, the people are crazy about football.”
