Trippier has fallen behind Tino Livramento in the pecking order.

Eddie Howe has made it clear that he wants to keep the former England international.

“Absolutely, I want Kieran here,” Howe said recently.

“That hasn’t changed and it won’t change.”

However, the 33-year-old defender is looking for new challenges after two and a half seasons at Newcastle.

Trippier was relegated to the bench for Newcastle’s first three Premier League games this season, with Tino Livramento starting ahead of him.

The right-back started the Magpies’ second-round Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest.

He recently announced his retirement from the national team and Livramento took his place in the England squad.

A move to Fenerbahce or Besiktas would guarantee Trippier a chance to play European football this season, as both clubs would qualify for the Europa League.

If Trippier joins Fenerbahce, it will be the first time he will be coached by Mourinho, who manages the Turkish giants.

The right-back would also reunite with electrifying French winger Allan Saint-Maximin, who joined the club on a season-long loan from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.

Besiktas is managed by former Rangers head coach Giovani van Bronckhorst and finished sixth in the Turkish Süper Lig last season.

The former Tottenham defender was also linked with a move to Premier League rivals Everton, but that did not materialise.

Trippier joined Newcastle from Atletico Madrid for just £12 million in January 2022 and made an immediate impression as Howe led the club out of relegation danger.
