Kyle Walker reveals how Man City exit conversation went with Pep Guardiola

Kyle Walker has admitted that the conversation with Pep Guardiola about leaving Manchester City was “not a very comfortable conversation”, especially because of the respect he has for the six -time winner of the Premier League.

Last Friday, the 34-year-old Walker moved to AC Milan to a six-month loan, which includes the option for sale in the summer and ended an almost eight-year term in the Etihad Stadium.

Since his arrival of Tottenham Hotspur, the veteran foreign defender has been a constant in Guardiola’s side in a deal worth 50 million pounds, which achieved 319 appearances in all competitions.

A waste in shape, paired with the creation of Rico Lewis and the versatility of others like Matheus Nunes, had swindled the minutes from Walker in the city, which cited the graduates of the Sheffield United Academy to conclude that it was time , try something new.

Walker promptly decided to speak to Guardiola about his wish, to accept a new challenge, but has revealed that it was not an easy chat.

“When I spoke to Pep, it was not a very comfortable conversation – especially because of the respect we have for each other,” said Walker. “What he won in Manchester City, I also won it. I like to think that he knows what I bring into a dressing room, the atmosphere that I create.

“City was my family – from the chefs to the cleaning agents, the kit men and physios. I think I was liked and helped everyone. But things didn’t go well there and I didn’t play enough football. Hopefully me can play a little more here.

Walker added: “I could have stayed in Manchester, I would have honored the contract if they didn’t let me go because I was a person.

“I spoke to many ex-players who never moved abroad and told me that they wanted it. If it hadn’t been a big club, I would have stayed in the city. There are only certain clubs that are Not to say no and this was the opportunity I wanted, I had a gut feeling.

Walker’s first appearance for his new club could come in the biggest game – Milan will be faced with the competitors in San Siro in San Siro on Sunday in San Siro.
