Leicester City will be looking to end their five-game losing streak in the Premier League on Wednesday night when they host Crystal Palace.
After a bit of a bounce as new manager following the arrival of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Leicester have returned to form over the past month. The Foxes have had some challenging games against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United, but have rarely conceded defeat in disappointing defeats.
Saturday’s 6-2 FA Cup third round win over Queens Park Rangers on a foggy afternoon at the King Power Stadium was necessary, but Palace will pose a much bigger challenge than their London compatriots.
Oliver Glasner’s side are proud again after a disappointing start to the season and are now seven points ahead of Leicester heading into Wednesday’s game. They have lost just one of their last nine games and came from two goals down to secure a valuable point when the two teams met in mid-September.
Here is 90 minutes Instructions for a thrilling clash at the foot of the table.

Leicester are still without several key first-team players for Wednesday’s clash, with first-team goalkeeper Mads Hermansen playing an important role. Ricardo Pereira is also unavailable in defence, but Van Nistelrooy says Jannik Vestergaard is expected to be used in some capacity against Palace.
Further forward, Wilfred Ndidi is missing from midfield and Abdul Fatawu is unlikely to play again this season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in November. Odsonne Edouard would probably not play, but is not eligible to play against his parent club.
Predicted line-up for Leicester against Crystal Palace (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Justin, Coady, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Soumare, Winks; Buonanotte, El Khannous, Mavididi; Vardy.
Palace have been struggling with illnesses of late, but Glasner has confirmed that all those who missed the weekend’s FA Cup win over Stockport County due to flu should return. This also includes Jean-Philippe Mateta, who scored a brace in the second leg.
The Austrian also revealed that Will Hughes will be back in the squad, having been absent since the final game of last year. However, Adam Wharton will continue to watch from the sidelines as he recovers from a knee problem and his return is scheduled for early February.
Predicted Crystal Palace line-up against Leicester (3-4-2-1):Henderson; Chalobah, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze; Mateta.
Leicester will need to make the King Power their fortress in the second half of the season, having already picked up the majority of their points on home soil this season. A visit from Palace is exactly the kind of game they need to win – or at least not lose – to avoid a return to the Championship.
Palace have enjoyed an upturn in the last two months but are still struggling for wins. They have settled for numerous draws, with scoring goals and creating chances both long-standing problems. However, with Leicester’s faltering defense – the second worst in the division – conceding two or more goals in their last seven games, the Eagles could secure a hard-fought win in the Midlands.
