Liverpool hero Dirk Kuyt has asked the red to end the uncertainty in connection with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk by securing the superstar duo for new contracts.
The couple are both approaching the last weeks of their respective business, and despite the alleged trust behind the scenes that extensions are agreed, fans are increasingly concerned about the prospect of losing two of their most influential players this summer for free.
Salah and van Dijk have both publicly admitted that their future is incredibly uncertain, but for Kuyt there should be no second thoughts of Liverpool to bind both players to extensions.
“Virgil leads so big and he plays on his best level,” said Kuyt The athlete. “He takes care of his own achievements and is also there for others on and off the field.
“It was not easy that he came back from a bad injury and had criticism, but this season he was immense and I enjoy every minute to see him for Liverpool.
“He will soon be 34, but the players can continue for longer than that of my generation. It is the same with Mo, who will be 33 years old in June. Anyone who likes Liverpool wants these players tomorrow, but we do not know the details. I can only say that I hope that we will soon get the green light that they will stay in Liverpool, since they are among the best players in the world.”
The talks remain with Salah and van Dijk, but there are considerable concerns about the right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who reports another offer of fresh terms in favor of the accession of Real Madrid on a free transmission.
