Liverpool’s FA Cup collision with Plymouth Argyle had a miserable start when Joe Gomez cleverly cleverly cleverly injured after just ten minutes.
Gomez returned from a thigh injury, in which he missed the entire January and was the focus of a provisional defense, but did not look comfortable right from the start, and an unpleasant exchange against goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher indicated a potential of problem.
Just a few moments later, Gomez sat on the lawn and immediately signaled the Liverpool bank, and clearly believed that he couldn’t go on.
After a brief overview of the Liverpool Physios, Gomez was actually withdrawn, with the 20-year-old Isaac Mabaya being recorded in his place to give his senior debut.
Arne Slot refused to bring either Virgil van Dijk or Ibrahima Konat to Plymouth, and put his star -defensive duo on Wednesday for the decisive Merseyside derby against Everton, so that there were only limited alternatives on the bench. It was Wataru Endo who brought back to the defense, with Mabaya going to the right side of the back line.
Alisson, Mohamed Salah, Conor Bradley, Andy Robertson, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo also did not make a trip while the injured duo of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tyler Morton missed.
