Liverpool have added Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich to their summer list transfer Goals, says a report.
Kimmich is now in the final six months of his contract and is free to speak to clubs abroad, with both Barcelona and Manchester City regularly mentioned as interested parties.
Now, however SportImage Liverpool FC has joined the race for Kimmich’s signature. Arne Slot wanted a new defensive midfielder in the summer and was linked with the Bayern maestro at the time, but relied on Ryan Gravenberch instead.
Gravenberch has thrived with more minutes playing, but there is an understanding that Liverpool still need a new addition to their midfield, particularly if Wataru Endo leaves in the coming months.
Over the summer, Kimmich is said to have drawn up a list of five possible landing spots, with Liverpool joining Arsenal, Man City, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Bayern have not given up hope of keeping Kimmich. Club officials are publicly calling on the 29-year-old to write his name in the club’s history books by extending his stay at the Allianz Arena. However, he has not yet decided about his future.
Kimmich confirmed at the beginning of December that he wanted an early decision on his future and promised not to wait until the summer to sign his next contract.
