Man City eye up summer raid on Premier League rivals to sign England international

According to The Pitch Prospect, Manchester City are hoping for a summer call-up for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento.

It is also understood Livramento, expected to cost around £60m, has shown no willingness to extend his stay at St James’ Park.

The future of Livramento is expected to be a big topic of conversation.

Although Livramento’s contract expires in 2028, Toon bosses are keen to determine the defender’s future.

The Pitch Prospect reported last October that new Newcastle sporting director Ross Wilson had made extending Livramento’s contract a priority amid growing interest from City.

Should Livramento sign a new contract to stay on Tyneside, he is expected to become one of the club’s top earners.

Livramento has proven to be a shrewd signing for Newcastle since his £40m move from Southampton in 2023.

The 23-year-old has played the Toon 98 times, scoring once and providing three assists.

He was also part of the team that ended Newcastle’s 70-year wait for a domestic trophy last season when he started the club’s 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

The key to Livramento’s emergence as Newcastle’s standout player was his defensive versatility.

A trained right-back, Livramento proved equally adept at left-back when it mattered, despite Lewis Hall’s injuries.
