Man City face new financial investigation after La Liga president demand

Javier Tebas, President of La Liga, has confirmed that he reported Manchester City to the European Commission for alleged financial violations.

City is waiting for a final judgment from the Premier League investigation into her business after being charged between 2009 and 2018 due to 115 violations of the department’s financial regulations.

The reigning Premier League champions are now a further investigation by the European Commission, after Tebas, who has recently been with Real Madrid, against Real Madrid, which has recently been present in relation to state companies.

“City has many companies in their group that are outside the structure of the City Football Group, additional companies in which they submit their expenses,” Tebas told FT Business of Football Summit. “These other companies lose the money, but not the club itself. We reported Manchester City of the EU. We have the facts and numbers.

“We asked to check the city. It is very important that all clubs are subject to the same transparency rules and governance on both the sporting and on the financial side.

“The case of the city is one in which we believe that they have given the companies that are not officially part of the City Football Group.”

Tebas continued: “You have a scouting company, a marketing company. You have very high expenses there. You research City for less money. The city has less than if you didn’t have this circle of companies nearby.”

The city continued to reject all allegations against it and insisted that its public financial documents show no signs of misconduct.

Richard Masters, CEO of the Premier League, spoke at the same event and was asked for an update to investigate the 115 charges against the city.

“The disciplinary panel has heard the case and now has to be left alone to check their decision, and the time and space to do this,” said Masters.
