Manchester City is making progress in her attempts to sign Rayan Cherki – and his current employer at Lyon could be quite happy.
Talksport understands that the French playmaker is about a summer train in advanced talks with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Cherki has long been the subject of transmission speculation, but the fact that his club owner is so happy to discuss his situation is more surprising.
John Textor, who is also a majority shareholder at Crystal Palace and Botafogo, spoke publicly about the sale of his star and revealed a step to Borussia Dortmund last summer.
Cherki was also the subject of Paris Saint-Germain, but the American owner did not want to sell to his rivals, even though the 21-year-old asked for a move to the capital.
It seemed that Cherki was able to leave in January, but shortly before the window opened, alleged WhatsApp messages that were seeped away by Textor who criticized the international France months earlier.
“It is 4th July and I still listen to this little A ****** that you want to sign. Are you still interested?” A screenshot circulated in the French media showed itself.
“Dortmund has now spoken to us for the first time, and I am happy to tell you that you should take F *** … I just have to know that you still want the player. Thx.”
A follow-up answer looked at textor answer: “Great … I think the child is a good child. I think his team of people is totally a ** holes. I’ll send him a message this evening that Dortmund is far away.
These conversations may have been at PSG, as Textor later revealed: “There were three or four seasons that Cherki wanted to leave. It has nothing to do with the DNCG [penalties from the league’s financial body].
“He wanted to go to PSG last year. He sent me a message in which I said: ‘I really want to go to PSG.'”
Oddly enough, nothing came out of the lecture in January, although L’Equipe reports that Cherki sent a formal letter, who asked his lawyers to request the club to accept an offer of 20 million pounds from Dortmund.

Textor clearly thought that he was worth much more than what he said RMC Sport in November.
“We lost € 15 million [£12.5m] From his potential sale [to Paris Saint-Germain] Last summer, but now his value is much higher, ”he said.
“He should stay in January, but it is up to Rayan, as is always the case in football.”
The player had remained in the end, but now the first summer arrival of MAN City is likely to be 200 million pounds for Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor rice.
Lyon fans will at least be happy that he will not wake up rivals and the new European champion PSG.
Textor previously said he was not ready to sell a player to the capital for television rights during a spitting with their President Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
“Today? No, it won’t happen,” he said when he was asked for Cherki to move to PSG.
“I don’t want to sell a player of this quality to Nasser until we have hand, shared a beer and decided to help the French championship.
“Of course, my relationship with Nasser was not what it used to be, but men are men and they can come by. But for the time being, I will not sell anyone.”
Textor later made headlines when another alleged WhatsApp from the TV law dispute showed that al-Khelaifi called him a “cowboy”.
The Missouri-Born then appeared in a Lyon game with a cowboy hat.
Since then, the couple has lifted their beef with textor, which was invited as a guest to the semi-final victory of the Champions League of PSG against Arsenal and smiled with al-Khelaifi and poured their hands.
In both cases, Cherki now looks unlikely to PSG, with a city, the benefactors.
