While most soccer players spend the low season, relax on the beach or to stick to the light, Josko Gvardiol had a completely different idea: becoming an adult action hero.
Before the 2025/26 campaign, the defender of Manchester City in Croatia threw into a “real command mission” in Croatia-with friendly approval of Commando Squad 9, a company that transformed tactical war scenarios in video game style into immersive.
Gvardiol was in full equipment in military equipment in military equipment in a wide range of simulated combat challenges.
Photos that were divided on his Instagram showed that the Croatian central defender stormed through forests, interfered in the site, navigated water missions and even mocked a “enemy” mocked everything with airsoft replicas and professional supervision.
“The ultimate mental and physical preparation for the coming season!” Gvardiol labeled his post. “@Commandos_9 is the transformation of a tactical video game into reality – all Airsoft replicates, and with these professionals I felt 100% safe.”
“I always wanted to know what it feels like to be part of a Special Forces team and to conclude a real command mission,” he added.
Would you like to live your own war film fantasy? You can – but the packages start at steep £ 7,000. A sun lounger in Tenerife could be the safer (and cheaper) bet.
