Man United and Liverpool’s released stars headline incredible free agent XI following Premier League exits

The list of Premier League players released for this season has been confirmed with numerous big stars leaving the club.

Tottenham confirmed on Wednesday the departure of long-time defender Eric Dier. The defender will join Bayern Munich permanently this summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have allowed Thiago Silva to return to Brazilian club Fluminense after his contract expired.

With many top clubs keen to adhere to Premier League spending restrictions, decent free agents could be gold dust this transfer window.

Leicester face a points deduction at the start of the season, and Everton and Nottingham Forest have also been deducted points this season for breaching profit and sustainability rules.

Manchester City has now been charged around 100 times for breaching FFP rules between 2009 and 2018.

There is a good reason why there is a lack of stars this summer – they could form a team that would not be out of place in the Premier League.

So which 11 players would make up the ultimate starting lineup of free agents this summer? The Pitch Prospect has taken a look…

GOALKEEPER AND DEFENSE

Newcastle recently released goalkeeper Loris Karius after his two appearances for the club.

Former Manchester United assistant Mike Phelan gives insight into the consequences of Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit and believes “he was right”

The former Liverpool goalkeeper was praised for his performance in the Carabao Cup final last season, which Newcastle lost 2-0 to Manchester United, and is still a great option for the goalkeeper position.

Arsenal full-back Cedric Soares will be a free transfer this summer, as will Man United defender Raphael Varane, Liverpool Champions League winner Joel Matip and West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna, who could fit in at left-back.

MIDFIELD

Liverpool have also parted ways with Thiago, who can play in a more forward position in this contract-free eleven.

Everton’s Andre Gomes is also available and would fit well alongside future former Nottingham Forest midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate to form the midfield trio.

An honourable mention goes to our midfield colleague Mohamed Elneny, who left Arsenal after eight years at the Emirates Stadium.

ATTACK

Newcastle also have to part ways with long-time right winger Matt Ritchie, who would be a great option on the right for this team.

On the other side will be Ryan Sessegnon, who was released by Tottenham on Wednesday after an injury-plagued season.

Former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial will play in attack as he looks to revive his career next season.
