Jadon Sancho has been told a third return home may only be possible if ex-teammate Karim Adeyemi leaves Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho has played just once in the Premier League since joining Aston Villa on loan in September, failing to score or assist.

The Pitch Prospect revealed last month that Manchester United had agreed to give the England international a free holiday next summer.
Sancho has not played a league game for the Red Devils since August 2023 after a public row with former coach Erik ten Hag.
The club has the option to extend his contract at Old Trafford, which expires next summer, for another year to protect his transfer value.
However, TalkSPORT has been told United are leaning towards cutting their losses to avoid paying Sancho’s wages for another 12 months.
His problems at Villa have sparked fresh speculation that a third move to Dortmund could revive his career.
Sancho returns to Dortmund
European football broadcaster Andy Brassell told The Pitch Prospect.com: “There’s no doubt about it.”
“Borussia Dortmund is Jadon Sancho’s footballing home. He fits in differently there than anywhere else.”
“He was able to raise his level there higher than anywhere else.”
“I think the fact that he feels like he belongs there and that he feels like he gets a little more love and understanding there than anywhere else.”
“Again, it feels like this is what he needs right now.”

“I think we look at Sancho through the prism of what happened at United and other parts of his career,” Brassell continued.
“We could really look at him in the same way that people look at Harvey Elliott. A good player who can’t get into the XI at Villa because they’re really good at the moment.”
“Why would you choose Elliott or Sancho over the other players who are currently playing? Because the 14-15 players they are playing with at the moment are doing amazing things.”
“That’s why I don’t really think that what’s happening to Sancho at Villa at the moment should be seen as his fault, especially.”

Sancho retains admirers in the Dortmund hierarchy but much will depend on the future of long-time United target Adeyemi.

Accordingly The mirror, United are among the many sites monitoring his situationbut Adeyemi favors a move to Arsenal.
Brassell added: “The Sancho-Dortmund question is a difficult one. Because if it were offered to him more formally, United and Villa would be willing to complete the deal and Dortmund would be really keen to come to the table.”
“Dortmund, there are a lot of people on the board and in the dressing room who support him straight away. I think that’s a big plus for him.”
“Now I think there has to be a question from Dortmund’s perspective. It’s a big investment. Is it really what we need at the moment? Where is the fit?”
“So the last loan was actually an opportunity loan. They got it for a short period of time.”
“They didn’t pay much for the deal. It felt like a deal that just fell into their lap and worked in the short term.”

“But if they took it back, there would be a feeling that they were responsible for its rehabilitation.
“And they know more than just what he can do. I think a few things are connected. There are currently doubts about the future of some Dortmund players. One of them is Karim Adeyemi, whose contract expires in 2027.”
“Speaking of divided opinions on Sancho, there are pretty divided opinions on Adeyemi as to whether they will keep him; it will cost them quite a bit of money. They will probably have to double his current salary. They may have to apply a release clause.”
“And Dortmund don’t like having exit clauses in contracts since Mario Götze blew that up in their faces.

“If they did that, I think a medium-term move for Sancho would make more sense because I think it seems quite expensive to have both of them there.”
“Of course, Adeyemi is a little different because he also played as a central striker.”
“But if you are looking for an X-factor attacking player like that, they won’t go ahead with Adeyemi because as I said, extending his contract would be a really big investment.”
“If they can get the money for him, that’s a gamble, and it would be a gamble to bring Sancho back, I think it’s a balance that we want.”
