According to The Pitch Prospect, Manchester United are trying to exploit Newcastle’s move for out-of-contract Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.
The Magpies intensified contract negotiations with Tosin at the weekend and hope to make him their first summer signing.

But the deal is not yet finalized and recently appointed United director Jason Wilcox, who brought Tosin into Manchester City’s youth system, is keen to bring him to Old Trafford.
United are aiming to sign two centre-backs this summer after confirming the departure of Raphael Varane.
Boss Erik ten Hag has seen his central defense decimated by injuries this season, with Varane, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez all sidelined.
The Dutchman had to use Brazilian midfielder Casemiro alongside Jonny Evans in defense in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
United’s interest in Adarabioyo, who moved from City to Fulham in 2020, could see the Red Devils expand their backline options next season, while the futures of Evans and Maguire are still in doubt.
Similarly, Newcastle had tapped Adarabioyo to strengthen their back four following a series of injuries.
Adarabioyo was reportedly interested in a move to St James’ Park, with Howe proving to be a key factor in the defender’s interest in a move to the North East.
The 26-year-old has made 20 Premier League appearances for Fulham this season, scoring two goals.

He has become an important figure for Marco Silva’s side after returning from a groin injury but has missed the Cottagers’ last three games.
Adarabioyo began his career at Manchester City, but his route into the first team was largely blocked by the presence of Vincent Kompany, Aymeric Laporte, Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones.
The Manchester-born star subsequently had loan spells at West Brom and Blackburn before signing a permanent deal with Fulham in 2020.
He has also played for England’s youth ranks from U16 to U19.
