Man United’s stance on Marcus Rashford revealed, West Ham exodus, Eddie Howe to reunite with £13m defender and Anfield backroom uncertainty

Marcus Rashford is unlikely to leave Manchester United this summer, although there are indications the club are open to his departure.

Rashford’s future at Old Trafford has been called into question after a dismal season in which he scored just eight goals in 40 games and was booed by his own fans in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry at Wembley.

However, talkSPORT understands that United are not actively trying to push their former academy standout and highest-paid player out the exit door and are more interested in finding ways to help the England international return to brilliant form return that he showed last season.

In any case, clubs are hardly lining up to pry Rashford away from United and it’s hard to imagine a scenario where he could command his current salary of over £300,000 a week elsewhere.

Paris Saint-Germain showed weak interest last summer after he made a much-needed return to form with 30 goals, but sources close to the French giants have distanced themselves from claims that he was being used as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe is being considered.

Moyes is set to trigger West Ham’s exodus

David Moyes’ departure from West Ham will trigger a spate of departures from the club’s regular players.

As previously reported by talkSPORT, Moyes is looking increasingly likely to leave the Hammers when his contract expires in the summer, and former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui is a leading contender to replace him in the dugout.

A change of manager could also mean a changing of the guard at the London Stadium, with Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal potentially following Moyes.

Antonio’s contract expires at the end of the season and there is no guarantee that the club will take up the option to extend for a further year as they want to sign a younger striker such as Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke. The Jamaican international was previously a Saudi Pro League target.

Left-back Cresswell, 34, is also a free agent in the summer and is said to be open to a new challenge despite the Hammers’ intention to keep him after only making a handful of starts this season.

Meanwhile, reliable Coufal’s contract expires next summer and the Czech Republic international has been unable to agree new terms, sparking interest from clubs across Europe.

“Cherrys loses key players as Newcastle circle”

Newcastle target Lloyd Kelly is expected to leave Bournemouth this summer despite being offered a big pay rise to stay at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries have pulled out all the stops to keep Kelly, but at 25 the centre-back is leaning towards a move, with Newcastle and Juventus among his suitors.

talkSPORT has been told that Kelly’s final decision will not be based on financial considerations, but solely on what is best for his football career.

The former England Under-21 international was signed by Bristol City for £13million from Bournemouth when Newcastle manager Eddie Howe was in charge of the Cherries and the pair have great mutual respect for each other.

Newcastle are attracted to Kelly because he will not demand a transfer fee and because he can play as a left center back and left back.

Klopp’s departure sparks uncertainty in the backroom

Liverpool’s long-time goalkeeping coach John Achterberg faces an uncertain future following the departure of Jürgen Klopp at Anfield.

The highly-rated Achterberg, 52, who helped Allisson win the Golden Glove and develop Caoimhin Kelleher, has been with the Reds since 2009 and has been part of the first-team squad for 13 years.

The former Tranmere star has endured four coaching changes in his time at the club, but it remains to be seen whether he will be retained once new coach Arne Slot is in place.

Slot wants to take Feyenoord assistant Sipke Hulshoff and performance director Etienne Reijnen with him to Anfield and the majority of Klopp’s existing staff are expected to leave.
