Manchester United and Liverpool have found that, according to a report in Germany, they have to pay more than expected for the Dutch Star Xavi Simons this summer.
The 22-year-old finally secured a constant change to RB Leipzig in the winter transmission window after he had previously borrowed from the German side, but the elite of Europe did not prevent this from signing it this summer.
Man UTD, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal were advertised with interest in Simons and the player himself “dreams” of a return to Barcelona – where he spent a large part of his youth career – but everyone will be obliged to separate with a significant sum to secure his services.
Earlier reports have stipulated that Leipzig would request around 60 million GBP to part with the Netherlands internationally, but at the end of the season, but Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg Has announced that € 80 million (£ 68.6 million) are actually the price of the player.
The report also states that the UTD and Liverpool as well as “several other” Simons “on their radar” and “monitor their situation”, while Bayern Munich could pursue a move to broadcast Florian Wirtz’s goal, to reject a move to the Allianz Arena. An official offer was submitted by any club as things stand.
Simons impressed in two seasons that Leipzig announced himself during a loan magic with PSV Eindhoven in 2022/23. He achieved 20 goals and 19 templates with the Bundesliga outfit in 72 appearances.
The versatility of the Dutch is one of its many strengths that are able to play far or in an attacking midfield position, and it is no surprise that the top dogs sniff around the talented striker.
