The President of Fiorentina, Rocco Commisso, has confirmed that goalkeeper David de Gea will remain beyond this season at Serie A team and has made fun of the Spaniard about Manchester United’s decision.
United decided to take off from de Gea in the summer of 2023 when manager Erik Ten Hag secured a reunion with the former Ajax stopper Andre Onana. Nemanja Matic, de GEAS ex-team colleagues, recently described the current goalkeeper of United as “one of the worst in the history of men, in history”.

However, Fiorentina has the opportunity to trigger a contract extension for de GEA, and President Commisso has now proposed that the option has already been taken.

“He stays with us. He is still young enough to spend a few years with us.”
The goalkeeper will probably be a concern for United and head coach Ruben Amorim this summer.
