Manchester United was welcomed Injury Boost before the final of the Europa League when striker Joshua Zirkzee insisted that he could return in time to play them.
At Newcastle United, Zirkzee lost a thigh injury in the last month, and head coach Ruben Amorim wasted little time when the season of the Dutch striker was over because of the problem.
He missed the last six games in all competitions, including both leash of the European League semi -finals against the Athletic Club, from which United has to book her place in the final against Tottenham Hotspur on May 21.
In a call with the former teammate of Bayern Munich Alphonso Davies, who streamed the interaction online, Zirkzee admitted that he has his sights on the final in time.
“I’m trying to be back for the final,” said the striker. “We will see what is possible, but it will be difficult.”
A return for Zirkzee would be an enormous thrust for United because you would like to save your season by lifting the trophy and sealing a place in the Champions League of the next season.
Rasmus Hojlund is the only leading striker from United what he looks like. The 17-year-old Chido Obi saw many opportunities in Zirkzeee’s absence when Amorim wants to protect his first players for their European trip.
Should Zirkzee get it back for the Europa League final, he would also have the chance to play in United’s last game of the campaign. Aston Villa visits Old Trafford on the last day of the Premier League season four days after the final,
