The head coach of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, revealed that Alejandro Garnacho suffered a “knock” during the victory of the week against Ipswich Town and this Sunday was involved in the fifth round of the FA Cup against Fulham.
Garnacho was in the spotlight this week for the wrong reasons. The Mercurial winger stamped straight down the tunnel after being replaced by Patrick Dorgu as part of a tactical rejig at half-time against Ipswich.
The 20-year-old was quickly mocked, which many viewed as a clear show of disrespect, but Amorim later confirmed that Garnacho had simply returned to the changing room to change his wet kit. Nevertheless, the Argentine international would have to pay a team meal as a carefree punishment for the public misunderstanding.
In addition to his preferred kitchen, Amorim was also asked about a potential fitness problem for Garnacho. “Yes, he knocks when he was blocked in the box to shoot,” confirmed the Portuguese head coach before adding: “I expect him to be ready, but we will see.”
Amorim’s options on the entire field have been hindered by injuries in the past few weeks.
Garnacho’s striker, Amad Diallo, is traveling with torn ankle bands for the rest of the season, while Lisandro Martinez will not be back until the end of 2025 after damaging his ACL. The midfielder Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer are all exposed to the visit of Fulham for visiting Fulham together with the long -term absences for visiting Fulham.
The winter attack Patrick Dorgu will also suspend the tie of this weekend after his red card against Ipswich.
United’s determined open coach confirmed that “nobody else is” from an injury before Fulham’s collision, while those who fail “try to recover to help us in the next games”.
