Ruben Amorim has recognized that Manchester United fans have the right to feel frustrated by some of the negative tactics that were shown early on Sunday with arsenal.
United was exceeded 1-0 in the first half in the first half, thanks to a late free kick from Bruno Fernandes, which contributed to calming the increasing frustrations in old Trafford. The fans organized an anti-glazer protest before the kick-off and were only satisfied when United appeared in the second half to bring the game to Arsenal.
“If you train Manchester United, you can’t play like this,” Amorim confessed after the last whistle. “But the idea is to win the game, not just to show the fans something.
“We tried to introduce me to a way to win the game in this context. I know that it is frustrating as a fan. Sometimes we have to do things that are not popular. In the end we need the points.
“I think this club will never die, that’s clear. You feel that it is a big business on the streets, not only in the stadium, and maybe all fans in the league are more difficult to go into play and pay for the tickets. We get a lot of money in the Premier League and you have to address it.
“It is a difficult situation, so we want to give them a lot of effort. We won’t play like this in the future.”
United’s low block was not a popular sight, but Amorim asked the fans to accept reality to face a team like Arsenal in the current state of Red Devils.
“It is also the opponent,” he continued. “The last game in front of the Champions League was a high pressure from PSV, man to man, and they are more difficult to mark in this way.
“In the low block we can control the game better in this way. And we have players who are good at the transition. I think [Alejandro] Garnacho played a really good game. Today he was incredible.
“We tried to choose the best moments to push up. We had the chances of winning the game today.”
