The midfielder’s future at Old Trafford was uncertain this summer as Man United were forced to sell him to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Since McTominay is an academy product, his sale would be a pure profit.

This will help Man United to sign his potential successor. Paris Saint GermainManuel Ugarte is now the club’s target.

However, the Ligue 1 giant is insisting on a transfer fee of £50 million for its midfielder.

McTominay’s admirers NaplesGiovanni Manna’s sporting director is also working on a deal for Chelseaby Romelu Lukaku.

McTominay has been with Man United since 2002.

Last season he only started 18 times in the Premier League, but was involved in the entire FA Cup winning streak, including the final against Manchester City.

He was the club’s top scorer last season, scoring ten goals in 43 appearances in all competitions.

Despite interest from Napoli, McTominay played in Man United’s 2-1 loss to Brighton on Saturday.

He came off the bench in the 79th minute for Bruno Fernandes.

The Pitch Prospect reported that an offer from Fulham for the Scottish international was rejected earlier this summer.

The reason for this was that the Cottagers did not meet Man United’s price expectations.
