Manchester United and Premier League rivals offered chance to sign Ligue 1 goal machine in cut-price transfer

It is expected that David will cost just £30 million in the final year of his contract.

The 24-year-old had a great 2023/24 season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions, including 19 in Ligue 1, to propel Lille to fourth place.

Since joining the French team in 2020, David has scored 84 goals in 183 games.

With 13 goals in Ligue 1, he helped Lille win the top division title in his first season.

He was also successful on the international stage with Canada: he is only three goals away from equalling his teammate Cyle Larin’s record of 29 goals.

David started Canada’s opening match against Argentina at the 2024 Copa America, but could not prevent his team from losing 2-0.

United, Arsenal and Tottenham could strengthen their attack this summer to compete with Rasmus Hojlund, Kai Havertz and Richarlison respectively.

The Red Devils and the Gunners suffered a heavy blow when Slovenian young star Benjamin Sesko rejected his interest in a new contract with RB Leipzig.

Erik ten Hag is also said to be interested in Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee as the club consider activating his £34 million release clause.

As for Arsenal, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Juventus centre-forward Dusan Vlahovic have emerged as possible alternatives to Sesko.

Tottenham are said to have been given the chance to bring former Chelsea star Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League.

The Pitch Prospect reported last week that Spurs could complete a deal to sign the Roma player for just £26 million following an injury-hit season in Italy.
