Match report & 4 talking points as draw puts Liverpool on brink of Premier League title

Arsenal observed how Liverpool approached another step closer to Premier League fame on Wednesday evening when Crystal Palace left the Emirates Stadium with a deserved point.

Jakub Kiwior’s early goal was the strong start that the Gunners would have hoped for until a clever Eberechi -Volley canceled this advantage.

Leandro Trossard reseted Arsenal with a well-worked destination, but an impressive palace was ultimately worthy of a defeat, and so only a few with Jean-Philippe Mateta’s Kühner were able to praise with 2: 2 level and endured the points.

How the game unfolds

Arsenal took less than three minutes to take the lead. Martin Odegaard’s broad free kick was perfectly flown and a non -marked Kiwior, who had easily escaped the relaxed attention of the former teammate Eddie Nketiah, did a header to Dean Henderson.

However, Palace reacted well when he himself has a good goal when Daichi Kamada’s volleye was only distracted far. From the resulting corner, Nketiah should have done better to lead a header gate when David Raya did not come close to the attempt to claim the cross. More Raya -Zehgern, when Nketiah chased a ball in the left channel, saw it for Justin Devenenny.

In the middle of the first half, Misge Declan Rice not much when the ball gently struck on the edge of the box. But Palace was a good value for his balance when Eze looked almost uninterested in order not to attract the attention of Arsenal defenders, took the position on the edge of the box and, after Adam Wharton’s intentional cutback corner, led a volley into the post.

Second, Nketiah should have had a quick -fire palace just to deny a timely Kiwioren block when he tried to roll the Polish defender to the goal with his back, six meters.

But Arsenal went back before the interval in the last moments. Jurrien Timber deserves recognition for the way he drove forward with the ball, and shot a pass into the feet of Trossard, who managed to dig a shot out under his feet that settled into the lower corner.

Raya’s earlier twitching did not improve after the break. He looked unsafe and was saved a few times. On both sides of an instinctive rescue director against Parry Marc Guehis Pinc-on header, he tipped a loop ball over the bar after Devenny misunderstood a header, and Daniel Munoz nodded over the face of the gate without a palace shirt connected.

Arsenal believed that they had expanded their lead with a quarter of the game on the left when Gabriel Martinelli Timbers hooked in the middle. An offside flag rose to the Dutchman, which VAR was incorrect, but the ball had just gone out of the game, so the goal was excluded.

Henderson highlighted a reactive hand to prevent the replacement of Bukayo Saka from replacing it after having come off the long post in the box. This turned out to be twice, because instead of going down 3: 1, Palace suddenly found himself through Mateta and not undeserved.

It was a bad pass by William Saliba, who was picked up, with Mateta Raya discovering his line and successfully decided the ambitious praise from a distance of 25 meters.

When the Emirates began to empty during the interruption time, an encouraged palace pushed a potential winner, but in the end a draw was a fair result for both sides.

Mikel Arteta

At the Bukayo Saka aside, Mikel Areteta went with the strongest XI.

Due to this game to make room for Crystal Palace’s FA Cup commitments, Arsenal has no weekend game and the best part of a full week before they are held in the first leg of their semi-final in Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their champion League semi-final.

Saka is another case because he missed the season almost four months earlier and has accepted another one last week, albeit a smaller one. For Areta, however, it is generally more sensible to keep the team that he wants to use in the game practice against PSG in order to prepare for the club’s largest game since the final of the Champions League 2006.

Jean-Philippe Mateta

It was not a fully shot crystal palace of Oliver Glasner, but Jean-Philippe Mateta, wants Hughes and Ismaila Sarr, began on the bench to stay fresh before the weekend. Glasner also removed Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton long before the end when Palace was a destination behind it.

The Eagles drive to the Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening to a semi -finals against Aston Villa to FA Cup. It is the 12th visit to the club and hope to reach only a third FA Cup final.

Ultimately, there could be a first big trophy at the end of the season. This performance will surely give you confidence in the semi -finals after a disappointing new run has been disappointing from the quarters since progress.

Although it is inevitable that Liverpool is crowned with the Premier League master, the last thing Arsenal wanted was the Reds to take over this title without playing them at all.

The defeat would have meant that. Therefore, things are at least responsible for Liverpool to seal them themselves when their weekend match is important against Tottenham Hotspur.

However, it means that only one point is now sufficient.

Jakub Kiwior, Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal’s fans feared that Gabriel’s injury at the end of the season would finally be disadvantageous to the remaining campaign, especially if Jakub Kiwior used little confidence with the club in his first 18 months.

But the pole has impressed since filling out and this game was a continuation of it. His early goal is a big moment, but a perfect time block was just as important to refuse Eddie Nketiah a potential goal of giving the Palace 2-1 in the first half.

With PSG and in form Ousmane Dembele, he is hit at the right time.
