The Dutchman has won two trophies so far, but has amassed a number of unwanted records in the 2023/24 season.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is in charge of football operations following Ineos’ investment in United, has decided to stay at Ten Hag despite speculation about a possible move.
Ratcliffe has also given his manager the money he needs to get things in order this season.
Their summer spending is likely to exceed £150 million as United fill every position on the pitch.
The first new signing was centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille for £52 million – the 18-year-old is highly valued.
Next came striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for £36 million.
There will likely be a few more signings before the Premier League season starts next weekend.
The Pitch Prospect has learned that United have agreed a £43million deal with Bayern Munich for Matthijs de Ligt.
There is also said to be a double deal with Bayern Munich, with Noussair Mazraoui joining for around £17 million.
The prerequisite for this is the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the right-back is about to be transferred to West Ham for 15 million pounds.

Strengthening the defence was high on Ten Hag’s agenda, as a lack of options in defence had caused him a lot of problems last season.
They were still missing a replacement due to injuries to Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire; Jonny Evans returned to fill in.
That would mean an outlay of almost £150 million for United and it may not end there.

The Pitch Prospect has learned that Ten Hag still has one midfielder on his radar.
A move for Scott McTominay and Casemiro has been linked and the Red Devils want a new man to play alongside Kobbie Mainoo.
They have held talks about Burnley midfielder Sander Berge, while PSG’s Manuel Ugarte is a long-term target.
Keeping all these players fit will be the most pressing task for Ten Hag, who was plagued by injuries last season.
